Connie Colòn has written & illustrated a seriously funny book – Principal Kidd. Eggshell Elementary has eleven year old Oliver Kidd for a principal. When he makes some changes to the rules allowing students to run in the halls, chew bubble gum, and play with chickens during recess, things just don’t work out as he hoped when the health inspector threatens to close the school.
On top of that, he’s been told that as principal, he couldn’t associate with the students, his friends, outside school.
Dastardly Mr. Dagger, the school’s Vice Principal, offers to help but Oliver isn’t sure what to do.
Will he agree to let Mr. Dagger solve his problem or will Ollie find solutions before the deadline? The school’s mascot, Chelsea – a very knowledgeable chicken – senses the dilemma and offers her support.
Connie’s illustrations are eye catching and hilarious. This book will have children wanting to read more about Ollie and his friends.

Even for a genius like Oliver Kidd, being an 11-year old principal in your hometown school is a tough job. But Oliver jumps in - actually he pedals in on his bike - making changes and learning lessons along the way. It's not like he's alone in this. His friends are there for him. And Chelsea the Chicken is by his side. And of course he has a vice principal beside him all the way, which would be a good thing, except the VP, Mr. Dagger wants Oliver's job! This is a laugh out loud story that will make kids giggle and say, "Hmmmm..." As a former teacher, I would have loved this as a read aloud in my classroom. It would kick off lots of "what-if" and critical thinking discussions and writing opportunities, because what if.....

If I may quote the seven year old I gave this book to, "A kid for Principal? That's a great idea!"
Principal Kidd is a fun read for both child and adult. There is cleverness without meanness, an engaging story that is just this side of plausible and an adorable sidekick, Chelsea the Chicken. The writing appeals to children (witness the 7 year old I read it to) without dumbing down the language. It was strongly suggested by said child that when the next book comes out, I "need" to get it for her. I heartily agree

Principal Kidd is a LOL story of a very smart kid who steps into an adult role (principal of his very own school!)
while he's still in an eleven-year old body! That premise alone is sure to catch the imagination, and the reader
can't help but root for Oliver and his sidekick, Chelsea the Chicken, to succeed against the obstacles that come
their way. Connie Colon's characters and plot twists provide a cover-to-cover fun ride of laughs, surprises, and suspense.

Principal Kidd: School Rules is a zany book for young elementary students. Filled with humor and fun side-characters (like vice principal Dagger), Principal Kidd is sure to leave little ones dreaming about new fun rules for their own schools. Gummy bears on Tuesdays anyone? ;) Three cheers for author Colon!

I bought Principal Kidd to share with two kids I sit for [9 & 10]. I think the reading level is fine for both. Eventually, I'll share with my grand daughter. It is a fun entertaining book with cute illustrations throughout. It has interesting characters and each has a vibrant personality. I believe kids really can relate to all the crazy things that go on in this book. I definitely think this book could be a series. So much more fun could be explored with Principal Kidd. Thanks for the afternoon entertainment! Karen

Ms. Colon wrote and illustrated an amazingly entertaining book. My 4th grader couldn’t put Principal Kidd down. We are hoping for the next book in the series or even a movie of this book would be AWESOME!!

I am so grateful to everyone who has left a review of this book on Amazon, or elsewhere. Many have asked about the rest of the “series”. I have written manuscripts for a few more; but I felt it was in my best interest (and best interest to the readers and purchasers) to not continue with the original publisher. (And I wish all of them nothing but the best.) There are a limited amount of copies still available for sale through me. Feel free to email me at: email@example.com.
The good news is: I’ve written one of the concepts as a feature length screenplay, and I will be turning it into a hybrid graphic novel with these characters. The new title is: PIRATE PRINCIPAL!!!
Stay tuned, matey!
